Staind’s Aaron Lewis brings his SOLO & ACOUSTIC Tour to South Florida!

Aaron Lewis, the acclaimed frontman for Atlantic recording group Staind, has announced details of his upcoming SOLO & ACOUSTIC Tour.

Lewis is also poised to embark on an eagerly anticipated and first overseas USO tour for US troops stationed in the Persian Gulf. 2011 will see Lewis traveling alongside members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including such gridiron greats as Lynn Swann, Michael Haynes, and Paul Krause.

In other news, the It Takes A Community Foundation (ITAC) – founded by Lewis and his wife Vanessa – is happy to announce that the RH Conwell Elementary School in Worthington, Massachusetts has recently re-opened its doors, thanks in part to funds raised by the recent "Aaron Lewis & Friends" benefit concert. The proceeds from the event, which saw acoustic performances from such luminaries as Brad Arnold and Chris Henderson of 3 Doors Down, Shaun Morgan of Seether, LoPro and Brendan Kelley, have enabled the RH Conwell Elementary School to provide a seamless transition from a district run facility to a community school. To date, ITAC has raised $150,000 in support of the school.

"My family has been directly affected by school closures in our rural area due to state budget cuts," said Lewis. "We have seen firsthand the necessity for smaller communities to have a voice and to determine their own local needs and priorities. Our foundation strives to do just that: to build a collective of local community members and empower them to take charge of their own community's future."

Aaron Lewis will be at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Wednesday April 6, 2011.

Janet Jackson announces NUMBER ONES - UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL World Tour!

The iconic Janet Jackson's NUMBER ONES - UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL World Tour has sold out across North America in record time. The 35-city tour has been making headlines due to this being Janet's largest world tour ever.

Janet is the fastest selling single artist performance ticket this year. The tour has sold out multiple nights in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago, Washington DC and Atlantic City as well as single nights in Atlanta and Santa Barbara (Janet now ranks as one of the fastest sold out shows in the 25 year history of the Santa Barbara Bowl).

"These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done. I will be as up close and personal as possible," Jackson said in a statement. "These concerts are not about special effects. This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work for all these years. I'll be singing and dancing from my heart. The music will all be songs that you've made number ones for me. Let's go!"

The NUMBER ONES - UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL World Tour is the first time Janet has hit the road since her record-breaking appearance at The Essence Music Festival. These performances will be Janet's largest ever world tour celebrating, for the first time, the icon's 35 number one hits in 35 global cities. Janet still holds the record for the most successful debut concert tour by a recording artist with her 1990 RHYTHM NATION Tour and is continuing to shatter records.

Janet was recently nominated for a Best Actress NAACP Image Award for her performance in Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married Too" for which she also co-wrote the theme song "Nothing". The ballad achieved number one iTunes status. Janet recently also co-starred in Tyler Perry's "For Colored Girls".

Janet's new book "True You" was recently published by Karen Hunter Publishing, an imprint of Gallery Books at Simon & Schuster. Janet's first book reveals her unique, never before revealed perspective on self-esteem.

"True You" chronicles Janet's lifelong struggles with weight and self-esteem. Though not a biography, Janet shares intimate stories from her past, present and until now private communications from her fans on their mutual struggles. "We took this journey together and if my fans had not been so open with me about their problems, I don't believe I would have been able to share this truth," Janet said.

"True You" features information from Janet's personal nutritionist, David Allen, a detailed food and menu plan including never before published recipes, created specifically for Janet by Chef Andre of Kathy Ireland's Worldwide Acafe, and finally Janet's personal journey with her long time and award-winning personal trainer Tony Martinez.

"Everyone is not blessed to have someone like Tony who makes being healthy and fit fun. Being able to share Tony's gifts with my fans, especially young people, is very motivating to me. Tony is a genius," Janet continued. The book is a self-help, healing guide of hope where Janet will use anecdotes from her life to illustrate the power of self acceptance and love.

We will post full information if Janet includes South Florida on this tour's itinerary.

Broadway hit WICKED returns to South Florida!

Back by "Popular" demand.

Entertainment Weekly calls WICKED "the best musical of the decade," and when the touring production first played Fort Lauderdale's Broward Center for the Performing Arts in 2008, it broke box office records and sold out in record time.

Winner of 35 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, WICKED is Broadway's biggest blockbuster, a cultural phenomenon and was just named "the defining musical of the decade" by The New York Times.

The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for "the most complete and completely satisfying new musical in a long time"(USA Today).

WICKED will be at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from March 30 to April 24, 2011.

Bauhaus' Peter Murphy brings his 2011 Tour to South Florida!

Following his cameo in the movie blockbuster "Twilight: Eclipse" last year, ex-Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy's new solo album "Ninth" will be released worldwide on June 7th.

His first studio album in five years was recorded in Woodstock, NY with the current live band featuring: guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite (The Mission/Tricky), drummer Nick Lucero (The Flys/ex Queens of The Stone Age) and bassist Jeff Shartoff (Human Waste Project). It's aptly titled as the 'Ninth' album release for Peter as a solo artist.

Not much is known about the follow-up to 2004's "Unshattered", which Murphy first announced last June (2010), saying (in a news release):
"I have had my 'Ninth' album ready to go for a while now. I've been playing it 'live', alongside Bauhaus classics and my own hits, long before the official release and it's added more stardust to the long shelf life of songs I have under my belt."

Peter Murphy will be at Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Sunday March 27, 2011.
