Lil Wayne's Summer 2009 Tour with Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy Tell'em, Drake & Pleasure P adds South Florida Date!

Just what we need: a really big rap tour, which is exactly what the game needs right now. A rep for Soulja Boy Tell’em announced that the rapper will be joining Lil' Wayne on tour this summer, along with Young Jeezy and Wayne’s fast-rising protege' Drake.

“God willing, if everything goes according to plan and everybody’s schedule is in place, then I will be on tour with some amazing people,” Drake said.
“One of them being Lil' Wayne, one of them being Young Jeezy and one of them being me.”

Drake has been working on Rihanna’s next album as well as his proper debut album. Soulja Boy has been in the lab recording, as has Young Jeezy. Lil' Wayne's long-awaited album Ribirth is set to drop on August 18, 2009. “I wanted to grow, and show my growth as well,” Wayne said after the MTV Movie Awards. “It’s a difference from when you go in a room and come out and you’re better and everyone says, ‘How did you do that?’ So with this album, I wanted everyone to see my growing pains.”

Dave Matthews Band adds South Florida to their Summer 2009 Tour!

Embarking on their first Summer tour since the passing of saxophonist LeRoi Moore, they are accompanied into this new era with trumpeter Rashawn Ross, guitarist Tim Reynolds and the latest addition to the DMB sound, Jeff Coffin on horns. Also during the 2009 Summer Tour, the group will interweave their European Summer Tour 2009, with several other festival dates and shows thrown in for good measure.

After quite a bit of speculation if Spring 2009 tour-goers would be exposed to the new music after the album release date was pushed from April 14 to June 2, fans attending the Spring tour have already been treated to three new original songs: Funny The Way It Is, Spaceman and Why I Am. The latter was LeRoi’s favorite piece they had been working on at the time. In addition, fans attending the April 29, 2009 show in Alpharetta, GA got the first listen to “Beach Ball”, included on the Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King Bonus Tracks. Rounding out the Spring debuts of BWGK, Seven was performed during the final three shows.

Dave Matthews Band (along with special guest Robert Earl Keen) play the Cruzan Amphitheatre (in West Palm Beach, Florida) on Friday August 14, 2009 and Saturday August 15, 2009.

South Florida Dates for Aerosmith Still a Go!

Although Aerosmith postponed two shows on its current tour due to an unspecified injury incurred by frontman Steven Tyler, all of the South Florida dates (including the Monday July 13, 2009 stop at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida) will go on as scheduled.

Regarding Steven Tyler's injury... according to Reuters, fans reported that Tyler seemed to pull a leg muscle at the group's June 29, 2009 stop in Connecticut.

The veteran band is next scheduled to perform on Saturday July 11, 2009 in Tampa, Florida, where they are expected to be rejoined by guitarist Brad Whitford. The 57-year-old Whitford has sat out the first few weeks of the group's summer tour while recovering from surgery for internal bleeding after hitting his head. Joe Perry told The Pulse that Whitford's recovery has gone smoothly. "He's doing really well," he said."He's been feeling good for a while. The only reason he hasn't come back is his doctors are just telling him, 'Just take it easy, relax, you don't want any relapses.' But he's doing well. Can't wait to get him back, though Bobby (Schneck), his guitar tech, has been filling in really well and doing a good job."

Aerosmith & ZZ Top are set to play the Bank Atlantic Center (in Sunrise, Florida) on Monday July 13, 2009.
