Embarking on their first Summer tour since the passing of saxophonist LeRoi Moore, they are accompanied into this new era with trumpeter Rashawn Ross, guitarist Tim Reynolds and the latest addition to the DMB sound, Jeff Coffin on horns. Also during the 2009 Summer Tour, the group will interweave their European Summer Tour 2009, with several other festival dates and shows thrown in for good measure. After quite a bit of speculation if Spring 2009 tour-goers would be exposed to the new music after the album release date was pushed from April 14 to June 2, fans attending the Spring tour have already been treated to three new original songs: Funny The Way It Is, Spaceman and Why I Am. The latter was LeRoi’s favorite piece they had been working on at the time. In addition, fans attending the April 29, 2009 show in Alpharetta, GA got the first listen to “Beach Ball”, included on the Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King Bonus Tracks. Rounding out the Spring debuts of BWGK, Seven was performed during the final three shows.
