It will be like 1971 all over again as Carole King and James Taylor team up for a joint world tour which will kick off in Melbourne, Australia on March 27, 2010 and will travel to New Zealand and Japan before coming to North America and Europe.
This once-in-a-lifetime event brings together two of the most beloved singer/songwriters for a rare concert experience. The set list will include a breadth of material including songs they performed during their 1969 debut show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, which helped propel them both to the world stage. Taylor performed on King’s classic 1971 album “Tapestry” and had a No. 1 hit with his version of her “You’ve Got a Friend” that year.
The tour is titled TROUBADOUR REUNION World Tour after the Los Angeles club where they performed together in 1969, and reunited in 2007 to present six shows celebrating the venue’s 50th anniversary.
Joining them on the tour will be their original bandmates: guitarist Danny "Kootch" Kortchmar, drummer Russ Kunkel and bassist Lee Sklar, famous in their own right as "The Section".
King and Taylor will be performing together on NBC TV's THE TODAY SHOW and CBS TV's LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN on January 20, 2010.
Carole King & James Taylor's TROUBADOUR REUNION World Tour will be at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida on Saturday June 5, 2010.
