The co-headlining trek, which will also feature House of Heroes as opening support, will kick off with a March 4, 2010 performance in Aurora, IL. The trio of bands will stop by arenas and theaters in 22 cities through an April 11, 2010 gig in Asheville, NC.
TobyMac-- born Toby Michael McKeehan --is touring in anticipation of his forthcoming winter release, "Tonight," which hits shelves February 9, 2010. The new set will mark the musician's fourth solo studio album and first since 2007's "Portable Sounds."
Last year, TobyMac won a Grammy Award for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album for his 2008 live collection "Alive and Transported."
In response to the recent devastation in Haiti, TobyMac has pledged that 100% of proceeds from first-week sales of his latest single, "Get Back Up," will go directly to Haiti via three organizations: Hands and Feet Organization, Restore Haiti and Compassion International. Fans can purchase the single via iTunes.
Skillet unveiled "Awake," the band's eighth studio effort, last August 2009. The album, which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200, followed the group's Grammy-nominated 2006 release, "Comatose." The outfit worked with producer Howard Benson (Daughtry, All-American Rejects) to create the latest collection.
"He's been a favorite producer of ours for quite a long time and we've talked about working with him in the past, but this time all the pieces fell into place," frontman Korey Cooper explained at the band's website. "He really has a knack for the elements an audience enjoys the most, which often times are the vocals and the lyrics, and then he gives the band a chance to be themselves and be proud of the artistic output."
Toby Mac, Skillet and House of Heroes bring their AWAKE TONIGHT 2010 TOUR to the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida on Saturday March 27, 2010.
