Promising that “more prisoners will be taken,” Aerosmith is heading back to the stage in November for the second leg of THE GLOBAL WARMING World Tour. The next round of dates is a 14-city arena tour that begins in Oklahoma City.
“The old Aerosmith is back with a new vengeance and we will kick your ass and make out with your mothers,” says Steven Tyler. We could probably do without the latter, but as for the band’s return to the American stage, it’s highly anticipated. Guitarist Joe Perry adds, “Can’t wait to bring this band back home. It feels like we’ve been away too long.”
The first leg of the tour earned the band tons of glowing reviews from the East Coast to the West and yes… Cheap Trick continues to join them as the tour continues.
The New York Times called Tyler “an unstoppable vocalist who was belting, howling, letting loose falsetto whoops or barking rhymes at proto-hip-hop speed” and the Boston Herald noted that Joe Perry “remains one of rock’s great guitarists.”
Over at the Orange County Register in California, the paper wrote, “They haven’t sounded so fierce in years.”
Two days before the second leg begins Aerosmith will put out its new album, “Music From Another Dimension”, on Columbia Records. During the tour fans can expect to hear “blazing songs” from the November 6 release as well as career-defining hits.
Aerosmith & Cheap Trick will be at the BB&T Center (formerly the Bank Atlantic Center) in Sunrise/Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Sunday December 9, 2012.
