Bob Weir and Phil Lesh bring their band Further to South Florida!

Fans who didn’t snag tickets to Furthur’s New Year’s Eve show won’t have to wait too much longer to see former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Phil Lesh rock out. The group has announced two months of U.S. spring 2011 dates.

Weir and Lesh formed Furthur in 2009 after touring with original Grateful Dead members Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart along with guitarist Warren Haynes and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti as The Dead.

In addition to Weir and Lesh, Further features Chimenti, John Kadlecik of the Dark Star Orchestra on guitar, Joe Russo of the Benevento Russo Duo on drums, vocalist Sunshine Becker, and vocalist Jeff Pehrson.

Furthur will celebrate New Year’s Eve in San Francisco, where the Grateful Dead first got its start. The band plays two nights at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium December 30 & 31.

The 2011 dates begin with three gigs February 11-13 at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo. Shows are on the books through an April 5 show at UCF Arena in Orlando, Florida.

The trek also includes performances in Boston (March 4-6); Wallingford, Conn. (March 8), New York City (March 10-13, March 15 and March 25-29); Pittsburgh (March 30); and Atlanta (April 3) and Boca Raton (April 6).

Further will be at the Mizner Park Amphitheatre in Boca Raton, Florida on Wednesday April 6, 2011.
