Vampire Weekend, which had one of the area’s top concerts during the summer of 2008 at The Fillmore Miami Beach, returns with another album and a whole lot more cachet under their belts.The band's sophomore album, "Contra", achieved the previously unthinkable feat of scoring number one on the Billboard charts. It was welcome proof that there is, perhaps, a market for Ivy League rock if it's groovy enough.
The opening band is the awesome, Crossfade-approved Baltimore dream-pop duo Beach House, an act unlikely to make it down here on its own any time soon. The Very Best, an unclassifiable Radioclit spinoff act from Malawi/England/France/Sweden, also provides support.
Vampire Weekend will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Wednesday October 13, 2010.
