Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney had so much fun on the first leg of their NOTHING LIKE THIS Tour that they are extending it into 2011. The tour kicked-off again on January 14th in Sioux Falls, SD., and continues to cross the country thru the summer. The group's new album of the same name hit stores on November 16, 2010. Considering that their last five albums have all reached No.1, and enjoyed platinum success, it would be easy for the Flatts guys to sit back and continue using the formula that has worked for them in the past, but that's not how they operate.
"We cut some things that we wouldn't have cut in the past, and we're really excited about doing something a little bit different this time," Jay says. "We've been with [producer] Dann Huff (Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Steel Magnolia) now for four records, and he really pulls something new out of us every time we get in the studio. This time, we went out to Santa Barbara, CA for about a week and tracked and did a little recording out there, just to mix it up a little bit. We just focused on the task at hand, and we got to collaborate with each other and talk about the direction of this record and really focus on it a lot more than we had in the past years."
Rascal Flatts will be at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida on Saturday August 20, 2011.
