The trek... titled THE INVITATION Tour, which comes after two months of European dates for the performer, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, kicks off May 28th in Cleveland and will close June 25th in Atlantic City, NJ.
"Before I Self Destruct," the rapper's long-delayed fourth studio album, finally surfaced last November 2009 after initially being slotted for release two years earlier; the set was held back so that Jackson could concentrate on a different album, "Curtis," which ended up being Jackson's 2007 release.
The new album, which sold 160,000 copies in its first week in stores, comes packaged with a DVD movie of the same name, which was written by, directed by and stars Jackson. The film, a coming-of-age story, focuses on an inner-city youth raised by a hardworking single mother.
The set features production by Dr. Dre, DJ Khalil, Havoc, Mark Batson and others, along with guest appearances from Eminem, Ne-Yo and Governor. The album's most recent single, "Do You Think About Me," shipped to radio stations in January 2010.
On his current tour, Jackson has been introducing material from his next album, which will be titled "Black Magic" and is tentatively scheduled for a summer release. In an interview with British DJ Tim Westwood, Jackson said the forthcoming album would be inspired by European dance music.
50 Cent will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Tuesday June 15, 2010.
