Rihanna has announced summer dates for the North American portion of her globetrotting LAST GIRL ON EARTH World Tour which supports her platinum-selling "Rated R" album.
The trek, featuring pop singer Ke$ha and rapper Nicki Minaj in the opening slots, kicks off July 2nd in Auburn, WA, about 35 miles southeast of Seattle. The outing includes dates in both Canada and the US, and will hit 25 cities this summer before winding down August 25th in Chicago.
"We've never done a tour to this capacity," Rihanna recently told AOL. "The production is unbelievable and the costumes, we just took it to a whole new level. Visually and sonically it's going to be a big step up from the last time. We just keep growing and this time it is a massive production that I cannot wait for."
On the road, the Barbados-born singer continues to support her fourth studio album, the worldwide smash "Rated R," which became her third consecutive platinum album in the US earlier this year. The set has produced three high-charting singles, including the most recent, "Rude Boy," which sits atop Billboard's Hot 100 for the third week in a row and helped Rihanna become the only female artist of the last decade to have six No. 1 singles in the US.
Rihanna's previous studio effort, 2007's "Good Girl Gone Bad," earned the singer a Grammy for her collaboration with Jay-Z, "Umbrella," which topped the charts in more than a dozen countries around the world.
Rihanna (with Ke$Ha and Nicki Minaj) will be at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida on Saturday July 31, 2010.
