With a West Coast leg kicking off next month, Crosby, Stills & Nash have added tour dates throughout the eastern portion of the nation following a July 2010 excursion to Europe.The tour, which kicks off with a May 21st appearance at the Sonoma Jazz Festival in Sonoma, CA, now has another 16 shows tacked onto the itinerary, including a second night in Saratoga, CA. The outing is now slated to wrap up September 1st in Lenox, MA.
CSN: David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash... continues to work on a new covers-only studio album with producer Rick Rubin. The set (the group's first since 1999's effort with Neil Young, "Looking Forward") reportedly will include versions of Gregg Allman's "Midnight Rider" and Bob Dylan's "Girl From North Country."
"Rick Rubin's a brilliant man," Graham Nash told Billboard.com last year, "and what he wants is an album with no CSN songs. He wants to do an album of all the songs we love, all the songs we wish we've written. It's brilliant from this point of view because we usually wait five years to record an album. This way there's no pressure."
Last summer, the group released "Demos," a collection of demo versions and various odds and ends recorded between 1968 and 1971. One track from the album, "Marrakesh Express," is currently streaming at the group's website.
Crosby, Stills & Nash will be at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Friday October 1, 2010.
