After finishing up a spring run of the US, emo-rockers Paramore will continue canvassing the nation as the headlining act at this year's 2010 Honda Civic Tour.
The Grammy-nominated band will head out for the 32-date trek beginning with a July 23rd performance in Raleigh, NC, according to a press release.
Tegan and Sara will accompany Paramore on the North American excursion, with the announcement of other support acts coming at a later date, according to a press release.
"It's a big deal to have our name at the top of that bill," Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams explained in a press release. "Not only does Honda bring great bands and their fans together every year to rock, but they're really carrying the banner and helping to make concerts environmentally friendly."
In conjunction with the tour, Paramore customized a Honda Civic Si Coupe, which will be on display at each tour stop, and which one fan will win after the tour ends. Those interested can become a fan of the tour's Facebook page to receive updates with more information on the sweepstakes in the near future, according to organizers.
The Honda Civic Tour began in 2001 with Blink-182 at the helm. The most recent outing occurred in 2008 and featured headliners Panic at the Disco with support from The Hush Sound, Motion City Soundtrack and Phantom Planet. Last year (2009), the tour didn't take place.
Paramore continues supporting last fall's "Brand New Eyes," the band's third studio effort. The album debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and features two Top 10 Modern Rock hits: "Ignorance" and "Brick By Boring Brick."
The 2010 Honda Civic Tour (with Paramore, Tegan and Sara and others) will be at the Bayfront Park Amphitheatre on Saturday September 4, 2010.
