Carlos Santana has announced the initial dates for a summer arena tour with his Santana Band, during which he'll bring along Steve Winwood as opening support. The tour is titled: THE CARLOS SANTANA UNIVERSAL TONE TOUR 2010.
The trek's first leg gets underway June 30th in St. Paul, MN, and will travel to 22 cities over the following two months, concluding with an August 1st appearance in West Palm Beach, FL.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer also has a few upcoming dates on his going "Supernatural Santana - A Trip Through the Hits" Las Vegas engagement, which continues April 21st at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. Santana is signed on to perform about 36 shows per year at the casino.
Santana's most recent studio release, "All That I Am," surfaced in 2005. The album debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart, moving more than 140,000 copies in its first week on store shelves.
In addition to continuing work on a planned new studio album, Santana recently issued a two-disc "Legacy Edition" of his multi-platinum 1999 comeback album, "Supernatural." The package includes the remastered original album alongside a bonus disc featuring 11 additional tracks recorded during the "Supernatural" sessions, among them "The Calling Jam," which boasts a guest appearance by Eric Clapton, and covers of Bob Marley's "Exodus" and "Get Up Stand Up."
