Aerosmith Regretfully Announce Cancellation of Remainder of their 2009 Summer Tour...

It is with great regret that Aerosmith are canceling the remainder of their 2009 Summer Tour, it was announced today.

Due to injuries Steven Tyler sustained last week when he fell from the stage during a concert in Sturgis, SD, doctors have advised the lead singer to take the time to properly recuperate from the accident that resulted in a broken shoulder and stitches to his head. In his current condition, Tyler is unable to tour and the band wants to give him time to get healthy.

Tyler fell from the stage during the August 5th show that was part of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Western South Dakota. The mishap occurred while he was dancing during the band's "Love in an Elevator." Tyler was subsequently airlifted to a hospital and then returned to Boston to consult with his own doctors.

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer -- want to thank all their fans for their incredible ongoing support and understanding at this time.

"Words can't express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour," says Joe Perry. "I would like to thank our loyal fans for sticking by us through thick and thin and all the good energy they are sending our way. We hope we can get the Aerosmith machine up and running again as soon as possible. I sure am going to miss playing with ZZ Top just as I'm sure the fans are going to miss seeing them playing with us as well. Hope to see you sooner than later." Joe adds,
"my hat's off to our crew for putting up with this crazy stop and start tour. In my estimation, it was one of the best looking and best run tours we've ever had. Us road dawgs will meet again. May your wheels keep turning and your load in's stay smooth."

Brad Whitford says, "we never anticipated this tour coming to such a swift and unfortunate ending. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Steven for a speedy recovery and return to good health."

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Suffers Fall Off Stage... Concert Tour to Continue?

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry said this past Friday that he doesn't know if the band will keep its current tour going because of injuries lead singer Steven Tyler suffered when he fell off a stage.

Tyler tumbled last Wednesday August 5th while performing during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in western South Dakota. Perry gave an in-studio interview at WXRX-FM in Rockford, Illinois, on Friday morning on his way back home to Boston. The guitarist didn't say anything specific about Tyler's condition or say where Tyler was. The rock legend suffered head and shoulder injuries in the fall.

"We still don't know if we're going to keep the tour up or what. It's breaking my heart," Perry said in the interview that was also streamed on the Internet. Aerosmith's next concert was scheduled for Friday August 7th in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but was postponed. The band's web site doesn't mention any other cancelations and calls for comment have gone unanswered.

Tyler, 61, fell several feet while entertaining the crowd by dancing around as the sound crew replaced a fuse that blew during the song "Love in an Elevator" at the Buffalo Chip Campground, which hosted the Wednesday night concert. An amateur video showed him spinning around before falling off the stage. A concertgoer said Tyler's head was bleeding and he was holding his shoulder after the fall, but it wasn't immediately clear how seriously he was hurt. The frontman was airlifted to Rapid City Regional Hospital, the campground spokesman said, the only major hospital in western South Dakota.

Perry said the band had to cancel only a couple of concerts during its first 25 years but has had a run of bad luck the last three years. On June 28, Tyler hurt his leg at a concert in Uncasville, Connecticut, and the band had to postpone seven shows in July. Tyler also battled pneumonia before the tour began in June, while Perry fought a knee infection. After Tyler's fall, Perry said he decided to ride the tour bus home and stop at radio stations along the way to play some his solo work. "As soon as I knew that the tour was going to get postponed or canceled or whatever, it was, 'all right where's the first radio station I can hit?"' he said.

We will keep you posted with any new update on the postponed Monday July 13, 2009 concert at the Bank Atlantic Center (in Sunrise, Florida).

World Champhionship Boxing Doubleheader: Urango vs. Bailey & Woods vs. Cloud... Closes Season in South Florida!

Another exciting season of ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights will come to a close on Friday, August 28th, 2009 and Seminole Warriors Boxing has made sure that the best has been saved for last, as it presents a championship doubleheader at Hollywood’s Seminole Hard Rock Live featuring the IBF Junior Welterweight Title bout between champion Juan Urango and challenger Randall Bailey, and the vacant IBF Light Heavyweight Title matchup pitting former champion Clinton Woods against unbeaten banger Tavoris Cloud.
2 time junior welterweight World Champion Juan Urango (21-2-1, 16 KOs) is loved by fight fans for his always exciting performances in the ring, and his willingness to always move forward in search of victory. Looking to make the first successful defense of the belt he won against Herman Ngoudjo in January, the 28-year old southpaw from Monteria, Colombia has only lost 2 decisions in his career, one coming in a hard-fought decision loss to Andre Berto in a quest for the welterweight crown in May, and the other a 2007 loss to Ricky Hatton. Urango is eager to show Bailey who’s still the boss is at 140 pounds.

One of boxing’s hardest punchers, pound for pound, Miami, Florida’s Randall Bailey (39-6, 35 KOs) has waited a long time for another shot at the junior welterweight title he held twice over the course of his 13-year career. A knockout artist who has been in the ring with the likes of Carlos Gonzalez, Diosbelys Hurtado, DeMarcus Corley, and Miguel Cotto, the 34-year old Bailey is currently on a four fight winning streak that includes a blistering fourth round knockout of Francisco Figueroa in April earning him the #1 spot as the mandatory contender for Urango.

A no-nonsense warrior who always comes to fight, Sheffield, England’s 2 time World Champion Clinton Woods (42-4-1, 24 KOs) has beaten and competed with some of the best including his classic trilogy with Glen Johnson which ended with each fighter winning once and one ending in a draw. Clinton won the IBF light heavyweight title twice and has wins over Rico Hoye and Julio Gonzalez and also shared the ring with Roy Jones Jr. and Antonio Tarver. Fresh off a February win over Elvir Muriqi, vaulting him into the number 2 contender position, Woods has climbed the mountain once more and hopes to regain his title on August 28th.

Tallahassee, Florida’s Tavoris Cloud (19-0, 18 KOs) is a ferocious puncher who has torn through his opposition over the last five years in route to August 28th’s title shot. The current NABO, USBA, and NABA light heavyweight champion, the 27-year old has paid his dues on his way up the ranks, and following his tenth round TKO of Julio Gonzalez in his last bout on August 8, 2008, earning him the number 1 ranking in the division, Cloud is chomping at the bit to get at Woods and to take the world title belt back home with him.

The World Championship Boxing takes place on Friday August 28, 2009 at the Seminole Hard Rock Live (in Hollywood, Florida). Doors open at 7:00pm and the first bell rings at 8pm. The ESPN2 Friday Night Fights telecast begins at 10pm ET / 7pm PT.
