Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers heads to South Florida!

The Righteous Brothers' award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Bill Medley will be bringing back that lovin' feelin' to South Florida audiences.

"You never close your eyes…" That simple, six-note opening line from "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" resonates among the most familiar kick-offs in pop music history. It helped create an unexpected legacy. Today, the song stands as the most-played hit in the history of American radio.

Hatfield's "Unchained Melody," which was produced by Medley, re-surfaced 25 years after they first recorded it to become an essential, million-selling part of the movie GHOST. It has since been recognized in an AOL poll as the best love song of all-time.

When Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield closed their eyes at their beginning in 1962, they clutched a rather naïve dream: They simply wanted to put a group together that was good enough to play Las Vegas lounges.

Within two years of their formation, the duo had made inroads at radio, landed a semi-regular spot on ABC-TV's “Shindig”, and proved flexible enough to share concert bills with the legendary Jack Benny, and open for The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Despite an earlier 1963 hit, "Little Latin Lupe Lu," their full power would not be recognized until the 1964 session that yielded "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'."

But it's merely one of numerous pinnacle moments The Righteous Brothers would achieve. They crashed the Billboard Top 10 five times in 15 months, adding such classics as "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration,"

"Ebb Tide" and "Just Once in My Life." In 1974, the reverential "Rock and Roll Heaven" hit the charts.

As well as having a career with The Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley has had a successful career as a solo artist recording 14 albums including the Grammy award-winning film soundtrack for DIRTY DANCING. Medley's duet with Jennifer Warnes, "I've Had The Time of My Life" from the soundtrack was a platinum seller and walked away with the "Song of the Year" honors.

The Righteous Brothers galvanized the link between rock and rhythm & blues so convincingly that they spurred the creation of a new term, "blue-eyed soul." And, their legacy was permanently recognized with their 2003 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Though Bobby Hatfield passed away in 2003, fans of multiple generations still keep The Righteous Brothers' legacy alive.

Bill Medley will be at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Thursday July 7, 2011.

As expected, Mana' s musical return after a five-year-hiatus has been met with tremendous success. Their new album “Drama y Luz” is wowing the critics, their latest single has topped the Latin Song charts, and now the Mexican rockers are ready to kick off a massive summer tour.

Roger Daltrey brings The Who’s TOMMY to South Florida!

The legendary frontman brings one of The Who’s legendary albums: TOMMY to the U.S. and Canada starting September 2011.

What’s different between Roger Daltrey's version of the tale depicting blind, deaf and dumb Tommy Walker and The Who’s 1989 tour featuring the 1969 album? As with the U.K. tour, the North American run is being described as the first start-to-finish performance of the rock opera. While The Who presented Tommy several times since the late 1960s, the band was known to leave out a song or two, most notably “Welcome” which was not included in the 1989 tour.

Daltrey and his band premiered their rendition of TOMMY at the March 25 Teenage Cancer Trust at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Since then, fans have been lusting for a full-blown TOMMY tour. For North American fans, this news was Christmas seven months early.

Daltrey also played the lead in the multi-award winning 1975 Ken Russell film adaptation of TOMMY, alongside: Ann-Margret, Jack Nicholson, Oliver Reed as well as Elton John, Eric Clapton, John Entwistle, Keith Moon and Tina Turner.

The AEG Live-produced tour launches at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida on September 13 and wraps in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the MTS Centre November 2. Stops in between include Boston at the Agganis Arena September 17; Philadelphia at the Mann Center September 21; Uniondale, NY, at Nassau Coliseum September 23; Montreal at Place Des Arts September 27; Ottawa, Ontario, at Scotiabank Place September 28 and Toronto at Sony Centre For The Performing Arts September 30.

Who has the chops to back Daltrey in this TOMMY undertaking? That would be guitarist Frank Simes, drummer Scott Deavours, bassist Jon Button and keyboardist Loren Gold. Also backing Daltrey on guitar will be Pete Townshend’s brother Simon, who has also played with The Who on the band’s recent tours.

“TOMMY, an album that tells a story about a ‘deaf, dumb and blind boy’ who becomes the leader of a messianic movement, will always be seen as a turning point for the band,” Daltrey said. “Within it, I found the new voice of The Who and the band found its stride in making that music, adjusting it, using all that knowledge that we had from jazz and the blues into making it work in a rock way.”

Roger Daltrey performs The Who’s TOMMY will be at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Tuesday September 13, 2011.

Several dates on the tour were rescheduled to 2011, including their July 9, 2010 date in South Florida which was rescheduled to Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Once the rescheduled North American tour dates for 2011 were finally announced, U2's manager Paul McGuinness thanked fans for their ongoing support, "We're delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play. British sensation Adele heads to South Florida!

British soul sensation Adele has been on a roll — her critically lauded sophomore album, “21” held the #1 position on the Billboard Charts for ten weeks, and helped turned her into a household name. American fans hoping to catch Adele live were deeply disappointed when it was revealed earlier in the month that she’d have to cancel her North American tour, due to laryngitis.

“As I’m sure most of you know I had to cancel over half of my U.S. tour a couple (of) weeks back,” she wrote on her web site. “It was a devastating decision to make, but I really had no choice. I had to give my voice 2 weeks rest or risk permanent damage. I’m so so sorry.”

Quashing some recent rumors about herself, she added, “I haven't been told to not sing or talk for a month, I have given up smoking again! And also I'm not having singing lessons.”

'I got better before and I'm getting better this time, and I will do everything I can to make sure nothing like this happens again!'

Today, the 23-year-old announced the rescheduled dates for her tour, which will begin August 9. The new itinerary features six additional cities — Las Vegas, NV, Atlantic City, NJ, Durham, NC, Orlando, FL, Miami, FL and Spring, TX.

Adele will be at the Waterfront Theatre at the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami, Florida on Friday October 14, 2011.

The global blockbuster musical MAMMA MIA! heads back to South Florida!

Seen by over 45 million people around the world, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus’ global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA!, is celebrating over 3,800 performances in its tenth smash hit year at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre and remains among Broadway’s top selling musicals.

The current North American Tour has played over 3,000 performances in over 130 cities with 125 repeat visits. The original West End production of MAMMA MIA! is now in its twelfth year and has celebrated over 4,800 performances in London and the international tour has visited more than 50 foreign cities and been seen by 3.6 million people. The blockbuster 2008 feature film adaptation of MAMMA MIA! (starring Meryl Streep), produced by Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman, is the most successful movie musical of all time grossing $600 million worldwide.

For those curious ones… the story concerns an independent, single mother, Donna, who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island and is about to let go of Sophie, the spirited daughter she’s raised alone. For Sophie’s wedding, Donna has invited her two lifelong best girlfriends—practical and no-nonsense Rosie and wealthy, multi-divorcee Tanya - from her one-time backing band, Donna and the Dynamos. But Sophie has secretly invited three guests of her own.

On a quest to find the identity of her father to walk her down the aisle, she brings back three men from Donna’s past to the Mediterranean paradise they visited 20 years earlier. Over 24 chaotic, magical hours, new love will bloom and old romances will be rekindled on this lush island full of possibilities.

Inspired by the storytelling magic of ABBA’s songs from “Dancing Queen” and “S.O.S.” to “Money, Money, Money” and “Take a Chance on Me,” MAMMA MIA! is a celebration of mothers and daughters, old friends and new family found.

Produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East and Björn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal, the creative team responsible for bringing MAMMA MIA! to theatrical life includes some of the most gifted and celebrated talents of musical theatre and opera. With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, MAMMA MIA! is written by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. MAMMA MIA! has choreography by Anthony Van Laast, production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

Waterloo brings their hit ABBA tribute show ABBA: The Concert to South Florida!

The original ABBA was a smash dance and pop sensation imported from Sweden in the 70’s that went on to sell more than 365 million records. They proved themselves to be one of the most enduring and successful groups of all time, having dominated the record charts for nearly eight years. Their music is still capturing new fans with the global stage musical sensation MAMMA MIA!, which uses their catalogue of songs as its score. The stage show was made into a hit 2008 film starring Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan and Dominic Cooper.

Although the original members of ABBA have not performed together since 1983, their recognizable sound and alluring stage performance can be experienced through the band “Waterloo”.
Waterloo pays tribute to ABBA and includes original members from ABBA’s band.

Waterloo was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1996 and quickly became known for its fantastic ABBA-sound and their stunning look-alike show. The band takes audiences back to an unforgettable time in pop history when glittering clothes and platform shoes dominated the music scene. The audience and press agreed, “This is the closest to ABBA you’ll ever get.”

During the late ‘90s, Waterloo toured clubs and festivals all around Scandinavia, Belgium and Asia. From 2001- 2008, Waterloo went into collaboration with Danish company CSE and the London National Symphony Orchestra, and “ABBA The Show” was born. The concert told the story of ABBA, and first appeared in Skien, Norway in September, 2001. This first show was followed by hundreds of additional performances all over the world. In total, Waterloo has performed approximately 1,000 shows in more than 25 countries.

During these tours, the show has always consisted of two or three guest artists who once were original members of the ABBA rhythm section. Over the years, original ABBA musicians have performed with Waterloo including Mike Watson (bass player), and Johan Stengaard (saxophone player), both of whom will be performing at the Luhrs Center engagement.

Waterloo’s latest “ABBA: The Concert” will guide audiences through ABBA’s musical history with all the classic hits and with a sound and look that bring back memories and the nostalgia of that era. Waterloo will amaze you with their period instruments, vintage costumes, hairstyles, on stage mannerisms, speaking voices, and unmistakable harmonies which capture the essence of ABBA. Even the Official ABBA Fan Club has named this tour “the best ABBA tribute band in the world”!

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts bring their summer tour to South Florida!

Joan Jett is an originator, an innovator and a visionary. As the leader of the hard-rocking Blackhearts, she's had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics "Bad Reputation," "I Love Rock 'N' Roll," "I Hate Myself For Loving You," and "Crimson and Clover." Jett was one of only two women named to Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 greatest guitar players of all time.

Since co-founding the Runaways, the pioneering all-girl punk quintet, at age 15, Jett's determination and drive have kept her in the public eye. Her profile skyrocketed, yet, again, with the recent release of the recent feature film of the same name based on lead singer Cherie Currie's book “Neon Angel”. Jett served as an executive producer on the film.

Her music has become a permanent force in mainstream culture. Faith Hill sings "I Hate Myself for Loving You" as the theme for NBC's Sunday Night Football and "Bad Reputation" was the theme song for the "Hit Girl" heroine of the hit film, KICK ASS. Her cover of "Love is All Around" (the theme song of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”) became an anthem in women's sports and was used by the NCAA to promote the Women's Final Four. Jett supplied theme songs for the ESPN X-Games premiere and has contributed music to all of their games since.

Adding to Jett's list of accomplishments is Blackheart Records, an independent label she founded with long time songwriting partner and producer Kenny Laguna, in 1980 - which made her the first female artist to own and operate an independent record company. Blackheart Records is also currently home to such up-and-coming groups as San Antonio-based female threesome Girl in A Coma and Los Angeles' pop-punk trio the Dollyrots.

The multi-talented Jett has acted in movies, including 1987's LIGHT OF DAY, and played Columbia in the 2000 Tony-nominated Broadway musical revival of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. As a producer, she has overseen albums by Bikini Kill, Circus Lupus, as well as the Germs' LA punk masterpiece, GI. Additionally, she is a spokesperson for PETA and a devoted supporter of the U.S. Military.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the hit "I Love Rock 'n' Roll," Joan Jett and the Blackhearts released the certified platinum-selling album on 180-gram clear vinyl on April 16, 2011. The exclusive Record Store Day reissue is a one-time pressing with only 1,000 copies available. The limited edition LP includes a download card of the entire album recorded at a 320 bit rate for optimal sound quality.

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will be at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Tuesday July 12, 2011.

Rubén Blades and Gilberto Santa Rosa bring their 2011 UNA SOLA SALSA Tour to South Florida!

Ruben Blades and Gilberto Santa Rosa, "El Poeta y el Caballero de la Salsa" respectively, are currently hitting venues across North America in a tour aptly titled UNA SOLA SALSA, in which they sing their greatest hits. The tour, produced by Ariel Rivas Entertainment and Juan Toro for The Relentless Agency, is taking these two salsa superstars all over North America to cities like New York, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Juan.

According to Blades, it's an "unusual opportunity to share a stage with a musician who is beloved by everyone and is also a dear, personal friend (Gilberto Santa Rosa)." Both artists agree that this is an
"opportunity to continue promoting the concept of Salsa music and ensuring that it won't be forgotten, pushed aside or replaced by other genres."

Last year the singers performed a duet together titled "Me Cambiaron las Preguntas", which appears on Santa Rosa's new album "Irrepetible" (Unrepeatable). The song marks a highlight for Gilberto in his music career, since it's the first song he records which focuses mainly on a social issue. According to Gilberto, it's
"unrepeatable because when you try to repeat a formula, it never turns out like you expected it to."

Blades stated that this tour is an "opportunity to thank the fans that never abandoned the genre and for their support and a reason to physically reunite them in a celebration of this type of music." He added that it is a great time to "present the style to a new generation who hasn't been exposed to Salsa music and who will surely become great supporters of this Caribbean expression."

Ruben Blades and Gilberto Santa Rosa will be at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida on Saturday June 18, 2011.

E!’s THE SOUP and NBC TV’s COMMUNITY star Joel McHale brings his comedy to South Florida!

Comedian and actor Joel McHale knows better than anyone how absurd most celebrities (and wannabe celebrities) look on your television screen. Fortunately for pop culture junkies, he's not afraid to take them to task as the host of THE SOUP, E!'s reality show satire program. He's the perfect guide to the Hollyweird menagerie, filled with its bizarre and loopy characters.

On THE SOUP, McHale's humor stands out, taking well-deserved snipes at celebrities and reality show culture while keeping things light with his wacky, sometimes surreal joking. No matter what the audience, McHale will keep you in stitches.

Joel McHale will be at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday June 11, 2011.

The Monkees bring their 45th Anniversary Tour to South Florida!

Their fans may have thought reunions were only true in fairytales, meant for someone else, but not for them. For those who have kept the faith will be delighted to hear that 1960's group The Monkees, spawned from the television series of the same name, are back.

The band, originally created for the hit ABC TV show THE MONKEES which charted the experiences of four young men in their quest to become rock'n'roll stars, are reforming to celebrate there 45th anniversary.

For the first time in 12 years the TV band, whose hits include "Daydream Believer", "I'm a Believer" and "Last Train to Clarkesville" are going on the road.

Three of the original Monkees: Micky Dolenz, Peter York and Davy Jones, will brave aching knees and dodgy backs for the performances, but Michael Nesmith, who went on to create his own business and became a producer and novelist, will not take part in the tour.

After originally being created in 1966 by writer and producer Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider for the ABC television series which aired from 1966 to 1968 before re-running extensively in the 1980's, The Monkees gained credibility by taking supervisory control over all their collective musical work.

The show won two Emmy Awards in 1967 and propelled its four starts to pop stardom. John Lennon called them "the Marx Brothers of rock", but in 1967, The Monkees outsold both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones combined, and went on to sell 50 million records.

After the TV show came to an end in 1968 the band went on tour and made a psychedelic film HEAD the same year.

The Monkees will be at the Pompano Beach Amphitheatre in Pompano Beach, Florida on Sunday June 5, 2011.

Hillsong UNITED brings their 2011 AFTERMATH Tour to South Florida!

Traversing six continents of the world into 42 nations just since 2006 in a cross-cultural journey, best-selling modern worship band Hillsong UNITED returns to North America for their AFTER Tour.

The tour follows the February 15, 2011 release of the band’s highly anticipated, 11th full-length album and second ever studio recording, “Aftermath”, on Sparrow Records. This is the first new recording from the band in the alliance announced last year with EMI Christian Music Group.

The band’s 2011 AFTERMATH Tour builds on recent tours that saw major venues sell out coast-to-coast, from the Nokia Theatre (Los Angeles) to Roseland Ballroom (New York City) to BankUnited Center (Miami) to the largest event ever held as of last April 2010 in the Sears Centre Arena (Chicago, IL), which outdrew recent concerts there by such legendary performers as Billy Joel, Elton John, and The Eagles.

With more than a decade’s worth of worship favorites, Hillsong UNITED will also play new music from “Aftermath” while on tour, including the first radio single from the album, “Search My Heart.” The song hit the radio January 21 and is a pulsing, urgent cry to be used by God for His – not simply our own – purposes.

Having its pulse consistently in tune with the heart cry of congregations across the globe and a fresh, forward-thinking soundtrack to match, Hillsong UNITED has been the veritable gold standard of modern worship music for the past decade and counting. As Hillsong UNITED’s team of songwriters penned and recorded the tracks for "Aftermath", the theme of genuine, paradoxical hope in the wake of apparent tragedy emerged in track after track.

“Normally ‘aftermath’ has a negative, even traumatic, connotation,” Hillsong UNITED’s Joel Houston says. “At the same time, when I look at the Crucifixion as an event, it paints an extraordinarily negative and horrific picture. But the aftermath of the Cross is hope for all mankind. It’s grace, freedom, peace, life and everything that is good about God. I absolutely love that picture.”

“Ultimately, through these songs, our upcoming tour – even the album’s packaging – we want to take people on a journey that leaves them feeling empowered to be about what God’s calling us to be about – not out of this sense of burden,” continues Joel.

Fronted by worship leaders Joel Houston, Jad Gillies and Jonathon "JD" Douglass, the UNITED team is also an evolving collaboration of pastors, worship leaders, musicians and songwriters - all intentional about giving voice to a generation passionate about God. Having led worship in churches, stadiums and open fields in Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas, the full Hillsong UNITED 2011 AFTERMATH Tour will be one tour not to be missed this year.

Hillsong UNITED will be at the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami, Florida on Saturday August 6, 2011.
