Lenny Kravitz brings his highly anticipated BLACK AND WHITE AMERICA Tour to South Florida!

One of the most recognizable rock stars on the planet, Kravitz has already succeeded on countless levels -- including 15 million albums sold since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales data in 1991. But with a new label partnership, a burgeoning acting career, an upcoming album and world tour, major brand deals, numerous TV/film synchs and other entrepreneurial projects -- the four-time Grammy Award winner is at the top of his game. Indeed, judging by the aggressive promotional campaign for his ninth album on Atlantic Records/Roadrunner Records, Kravitz has his work cut out for him.

"There's a lot going on at once," says Kravitz, who will be seen in movie theatres in "The Hunger Games," the anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' best-selling trilogy. The musician/actor was tapped to play the role of fashion stylist Cinna after "Pleasantville" director Gary Ross was dazzled by his appearance in 2009's critically acclaimed "Precious." "I have to organize," Kravitz says. "There are a lot of deadlines coming from a lot of different places."

In addition to "Games" and promoting "Black and White America," Kravitz is working on various hotel and condominium design projects in Miami through his company Kravitz Design. And in his spare moments, he's also an avid photographer. Kravitz may note that he's "got enough jobs right now," but he says he's always open to more creative work. And the artist's camp isn't worried that his outside endeavors will interfere with the intense promo cycle of "Black and White."

"From the first day we met Lenny, he told us how important this album was to him and how hungry he is to expose it," Roadrunner president Jonas Nachsin says. "We have no question of his commitment to that."

Kravitz arrives at Atlantic/Roadrunner after a long-standing relationship with Virgin, which released 1989's classic “Let Love Rule” and, most recently, 2008's “It Is Time for a Love Revolution”. The latter has sold 240,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Despite leaving Virgin with one album left on his contract, the artist says he and the label parted on friendly terms.

"It was just time for a change," he says. "It was not the place I'd signed to. It had gone through many versions... it was time for new blood."

The son of filmmaker/TV producer Sy Kravitz (of Ukrainian/Jewish descent) and Florida-born African-American actress Roxie Roker (Helen on CBS TV’s 70s "The Jeffersons"), the theme of Kravitz's new album is the dynamic(s) of growing up in an interracial environment. "This is what I know and how I had to live," he says. "It's where we are in America with a lot of people having to deal with the fact that it's not just white America--it's black and white America, and everything in between."

The 16-song set's title track was written in response to a documentary about white supremacists in post-Obama America. Kravitz doesn't recall the title of the film, but says he randomly found it while flipping through channels. "It was people talking about how they wanted America to be like it was 100 years ago," he says. "To hear people as hardcore as they were -- in 2011 -- kind of blew my mind. Like, 'These people still exist? Wow.'"

"Black and White America" was recorded in the Bahamas and Paris beginning in mid-2009. The contrasting city environments played a significant role in shaping the set's overall vibe. "The Bahamas enabled me to be away from mainstream society," Kravitz says. "It gave me time to reflect and think about my life--and to feel. The music that came out was extremely pure. When I took it to Paris and was driving around the car in the middle of all this electricity, the music sounded different. It influenced me as far as what overdubs were going to go in, that would bring this electricity."

Kravitz produced and played most of the instruments on “Black and White America”, bringing in regular guitarist Craig Ross and Trombone Shorty for the horn section. In addition to guest appearances by Jay-Z ("Boongie Drop") and Drake ("Sunflower"), the album includes a song co-written with Swizz Beatz ("Sunflower"). Touching on rock, funk, pop, R&B, jazz and blues, the collection contains some of the most musically diverse songs of Kravitz's 20-year career. He riffs hard on "Rock Star City Life" and "Come On Get It," displays old-school R&B on "Superlove," delves into some reggae on "Boongie Drop" and reveals a softer side on the ballad "Dream."

"I never stick to one thing on an album," Kravitz says. "But this one, with 16 tracks, really gives a good music history of where I come from and who I am."

Lenny Kravitz will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Saturday February 25, 2012.

The Doobie Brothers bring their WORLD GONE CRAZY Tour to South Florida!

Catch “A Brighter Day” and other hot singles from the “World Gone Crazy” album when multi-talented Grammy award-winning musicians The Doobie Brothers take their 2012 tour across North America.

The Doobie Brothers, presently comprised of Tom Johnston (vocals/guitar), Pat Simmons (vocals/guitar) and John McFee (guitar/strings/vocals) have sold over 40 million albums of their signature blend of R&B, country, bluegrass, heavy metal and rock and roll from the 1970s to the present.

Though their 1971 self-titled debut album initially failed to chart, the following year’s sophomore album, “Toulouse Street”, broke down the barrier spawning the classic rock staples “Listen To The Music,” “Rockin’ Down the Highway” and “Jesus is Just Alright.” Next up in 1973, a string of hits followed, including “Long Train Runnin’” and “China Grove,” from the 1973 album “The Captain and Me”. “Black Water,” from 1974‘s “What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits”, became the band’s first #1 single and eventually propelled the album to multi-platinum status. “Stampede”, released in 1975, featured yet another hit single, the cover of the Motown hit “Take Me in Your Arms” (also covered by Blood, Sweat, and Tears). In 1976, “Takin’ It to the Streets” debuted a radical change in their sound to blue-eyed soul featuring the title track and “It Keeps You Runnin’.”

A few live albums, TV specials and almost a decade on the road provided a soaring career and 1978‘s “Minute by Minute” reinforced that popularity with a five-week stay at the top of the music charts and domination of several radio formats for the better part of two years. “What a Fool Believes,” written with Kenny Loggins, was the band’s second #1 single and earned a Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Pop Vocal Performance by a Group. The album was also honored with an Album of the Year nod.

In 1980, the Doobies released their ninth studio album, entitled “One Step Closer”. The album featured the Top Ten hit “Real Love,” yet success was bittersweet with the 1983 live album, “Farewell Tour”.

Springing back in 1987 for a reunion tour, the band is still together entertaining international audiences. The band’s latest album, “World Gone Crazy”, was released in 2010. Now, at #22, their single, “A Brighter Day,” continues to climb the AC charts.

The Doobie Brothers will be at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Friday February 24, 2012.

The Gipsy Kings bring their 2012 Tour to South Florida!

The gypsy flamenco band the Gipsy Kings are touring North America and the band’s added a unique song to its repertoire.

The group is from the South of France… and they’re of Spanish Romani heritage. Their style of music is rumba flamenco, often mixed in with popular beats. They’ve had a busy career and they are loved in the United States where they tour about twice a year. The band first burst onto the world stage in the late 1980s with hits like “Bamboleo”.

They haven’t released a new studio album in over three years so it’s a little puzzling that their most recent work is heard in an animation movie: Disney- Pixar’s’ TOY STORY 3. Since Buzz Lightyear is switched to Spanish in this film the theme song is too. "You’ve Got a Friend in Me” becomes “Hay un Amigo en Mi,” a full-blown rumba-flamenco tune, courtesy of the Gipsy Kings.

Tom MacDougall, TOY STORY 3’s music supervisor says, for the scene in which Buzz Lightyear starts to dance, they needed a band with an iconic sound that would identify flamenco, and Spain, immediately in American moviegoers’ minds. And no band could do that better than the Gipsy Kings.

Tom MacDougall: “For that moment we needed people to know immediately what’s happening you hear those first chords on the guitar and even when I see the film now with audiences they get right away so for that minute or so of the footage the song identifies what’s going to happen and you just enjoy the ride.”

Gipsy Kings’ band member Andre Reyes says they were immensely pleased to get the song request from Disney Pixar. He says they worked to make it their own --
“we gave it a Gipsy Kings makeover, with the style of singing of Nicolas, the lead singer, and the traditional Flamenco rhythm.” He adds that the song may give the band a special connection to American audiences during this tour. And if they get requests, Reyes says they’ll definitely play their version of the TOY STORY 3 theme song.

The Gipsy Kings will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Friday April 20, 2012 and at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida on Wednesday May 9, 2012.

Hollywood icon George Hamilton headlines the LA CAGE AUX FOLLES Tour!

The producers of the 2010 Broadway revival of the musical LA CAGE AUX FOLLES are proud to announce that George Hamilton stars in the new national tour of the show as Georges.

The 1st National Tour of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, Sonia Friedman Productions and David Babani in association with NETworks Presentations.

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES tells the story of Georges, the owner of a glitzy nightclub in lovely Saint-Tropez, and his partner Albin, who moonlights as the glamorous chanteuse Zaza. When Georges' son brings his fiancée's conservative parents home to meet the flashy pair, the bonds of family are put to the test as the feather boas fly! LA CAGE AUX FOLLES is a tuneful and touching tale of one family's struggle to stay together... stay fabulous... and above all else, stay true to themselves!

George Hamilton is noted for his dashing, sporting, jet-setter image and perpetually bronzed skin tones in commercials, dramatic and comedic film roles and reality shows.

George Hamilton with his exceedingly handsome looks and attractive personality, he took a bold chance and moved to Los Angeles in the late 1950s. Metro Goldwyn Mayer wasted no time putting him in films following some guest appearances on TV. His first film, a lead in “Crime & Punishment, USA” (1959), was an offbeat, updated adaptation of the Fyodor Dostoevsky novel. He was the recipient of a Golden Globe for "Most Promising Newcomer" as well as being nominated for "Best Foreign Actor" by the British Film Academy (BAFTA). This in turn led to an enviable series of film showcases such as “Home from the Hill”, “All the Fine Young Cannibals”, “Light in the Piazza” and “Two Weeks in Another Town”.

He performed several roles in numerous films but is best known for MGM films in the 1960s' “Where the Boys Are”, a coming-of-age romantic comedy in which Hamilton played a smooth Ivy League type. Hamilton made two memorable bio-pics: “Your Cheatin' Heart” in 1964, in which he portrayed the country-western music legend Hank Williams and in 1971, “Evel Knievel”, the life story of the motorcycle daredevil.

As the 1960s began to unfold, George Hamilton started making headlines more as a handsome escort to the rich, the powerful and the beautiful than as an acclaimed actor -- none more so than his 1966 squiring of President Lyndon B. Johnson's daughter Lynda Bird Johnson. From the 1970s on, George tended to be tux-prone on standard film and TV comedy and drama, whether as a martini-swirling opportunist, villain or lover. A wonderful comeback for him came in the form of the disco-era Dracula spoof “Love at First Bite” (1979), which he executive-produced. Nominated for a Golden Globe as the campy neck-biter displaced and having to fend off the harsh realities of New York living, he continued on the parody road successfully with “Zorro, the Gay Blade” (1981) in the very best Mel Brooks tradition.

This renewed popularity led to a one-year stint on "Dynasty" (1981) during the 1985-1986 season and a string of fun, self-mocking commercials, particularly his Ritz Cracker appearance that often spoofed his overly tanned appearance. In 1989 he started a line of skin-care products and a chain of tanning salons. On the tube he can still pull off a good time, whether playing flamboyant publisher William Randolph Hearst in “Rough Riders” (1997) (TV), playing the best-looking Santa Claus ever in “A Very Cool Christmas” (2004) (TV), hosting beauty pageants or making breezy gag appearances.

He has broken through the "reality show" ranks by hosting "The Family" (2003) and participating in the second season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" (2005), where his charm and usual impeccable tailoring scored higher than his limberness.

Hamilton was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009, on his 70th birthday.

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES recently made Tony Awards history as the first show to ever win the Tony Award three times for best production. The classic musical comedy by Jerry Herman and Harvey Fierstein originally won six Tony Awards in 1984, including Best Musical. A Broadway revival won two 2005 Tony Awards including the Best Revival of a Musical prize. The new, freshly reconceived LA CAGE won three 2010 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical and Best Director of a Musical (Terry Johnson).

The production is also the winner of three Drama Desk Awards, including Outstanding Revival

of a Musical, four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Outstanding Revival of a Musical and Outstanding Director of a Musical (Terry Johnson) and the Drama League Award for Distinguished Revival of a Musical.

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES features music and lyrics by the legendary Jerry Herman and book by Harvey Fierstein, based on the play by Jean Poiret.

The 1st National Tour of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES is now at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, Florida thru February 19, 2012 and returns to South Florida to play at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from June 12 thru 24, 2012.

Cultural icon and TV personality Regis Philbin heads to South Florida with wife Joy!

Regis Philbin with special guest, wife Joy Philbin, will entertain South Florida and perform songs from their recent CD, “Regis & Joy: Just You. Just Me.”

A cultural icon in television broadcasting, Regis Philbin has been the face to which millions of Americans have woken up to every morning for the last two decades. In addition, he has enjoyed entertaining audiences on the road by combining his timeless music, wit, charm and unmatched storytelling while engaging audiences to participate in the mix.

Since Philbin first stepped in front of the camera more than 40 years ago, the award-winning host has ambitiously tackled talk shows, game shows and even the literary world, with multiple best-sellers to his credit.

Early on, Philbin took A.M. Los Angeles from the bottom of the ratings to number one, where the show remained throughout his seven-year tenure. At the national level, he served as Joey Bishop’s sidekick on The Joey Bishop Show and helmed The Regis Philbin Show, a daily 30-minute program that received an Emmy for Outstanding Daytime Variety Series.

LIVE! with Regis and Kelly originated in 1983 when Philbin created The Morning Show for WABC in his native Manhattan. It quickly became the number one show in the market. Kathie Lee Gifford joined him in June 1985, and in September 1988 the program debuted in national syndication and the title was changed to Live with Regis & Kathie Lee. In 2001, Philbin was joined by Ripa, and the program entered a new era as LIVE! with Regis and Kelly.

Philbin took his daytime success to nighttime with ABC’s ratings juggernaut Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in 1999. Ten years after making television history, the network brought back a special 11-episode anniversary run of the blockbuster game show with Philbin at the helm.

Following the initial run of Millionaire and the $10 million spin-off Super Millionaire, Philbin returned to primetime as host of the NBC summer program America’s Got Talent. He was tapped by ABC to host the red carpet arrivals show for the 2008 Academy Awards, and later that year hosted the network revival of Password with CBS’ Million Dollar Password. In 2010, he took on hosting duties for daytime television’s biggest night – the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Although best known for his broadcasting career, music has been a lifelong passion for Philbin. It began with 1968’s It’s Time for Regis! It took 38 years for his follow-up album, When You’re Smiling (2004), a collection of some of the greatest songs in American pop music. He also released an album of Christmas classics in 2005.

Philbin has been honored with numerous awards and accolades including a TV Guide Award as Personality of the Year, a Broadcasting & Cable Lifetime Achievement Award and a Crystal Apple Award for his contributions to the New York television industry. Other honors include the Walter Camp “Distinguished American Award” at Yale University and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2006, he was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and later that year was selected by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to be inducted into the Television Academy’s Hall of Fame.

A multiple Daytime Emmy Award-winner, in 2010, Philbin broke his own existing Guinness World Record for Most Hours on Camera, setting a new mark of 16,548.5 hours accumulated over his illustrious career – a career that was ultimately recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at the 2008 Daytime Emmy Awards.

Regis & Joy Philbin will be at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on Wednesday February 8, 2012.

Nickelodeon’s The Fresh Beat Band head to South Florida!

One of the hottest pop acts on the road this year is a group you've probably never heard of, unless you have a child of preschool age.

That would be The Fresh Beat Band, stars of the TV series of the same name, now in its third season on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. The Fresh Beats, as they are known to the faithful, launch their first national tour. By popular demand, there will be 95 shows, nearly twice as many as were scheduled when the trek was announced in November 2011. Tickets sold out within a day in Miami, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia and New York City.

Created and executive-produced by the husband-and-wife team of Scott Kraft and Nadine van der Velde, The Fresh Beat Band follows four young adults — two guys named Twist and Shout and two gals, Kiki and Marina — as they study music and solve everyday problems.

The actors all sing, dance and play instruments, and original tunes written by Kraft and van der Velde and other pop composers are incorporated into each episode. Bouncy, wholesome numbers include “Here We Go”, “A Friend Like You” and “Just Like a Rockstar”, which all reached No. 1 on iTunes' children's songs chart. They can all be found on the compilation The Fresh Beat Band: Music from the Hit TV Show.

Kraft and van der Velde's younger daughter, Beatrice, now 10, inspired the format. "Years ago, when she started going to birthday parties, we noticed — as we had with our older daughter — that they were themed after older kids' shows," says van der Velde. "Nothing awful, but not entirely appropriate — boyfriend/girlfriend stuff, for these kids who were 2 and 3 and 4. So we thought, why not create real characters these kids could interact with?"

They still wanted older role models: "kids these days are very sophisticated, and we wanted a show with a real band who didn't talk down to them," Kraft says. Adds Paula Kaplan, Nickelodeon's executive vice president of talent, "We wanted a visibly diverse cast, with different skills."

The performers certainly boast eclectic and impressive résumés. Thomas Hobson, 27, who plays Shout, performed at Yale Drama School as a university undergraduate; Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer, 25, cast as Kiki, also is a theater veteran, and a trained opera singer who began violin studies at age 3.

Newest cast member Tara Perry, 26 — who replaced Shayna Rose as Marina in 2011, after Rose left the show to pursue other career opportunities — has an extensive background in improvisational comedy. Perry recalls that her audition notice called for "a redhead who could sing, dance and play drums. And they wanted someone who was a mix between Lucille Ball and Tina Fey."

The roles were originally tailored, though, to the company. When Jon Beavers, 27, the stage actor and DJ who plays Twist, auditioned, "he rapped instead of singing," Kraft remembers. "And we thought, 'That's great — let's throw him in.' "

Hobson notes that the producers still, "at the top of every season, ask us to draw up a list of any talents we have that we haven't yet used on the show."

Kraft posits that "part of the reason the tour is so popular is that these performers are doing what they do best. And people can tell that they'll be able to do it live."

The Fresh Beat Band will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Tuesday April 24, 2012.
