Violinist David Garrett brings his International Tour to South Florida!

Visionary violinist David Garrett has committed himself to a clearly defined goal: introducing young people to the classics and kindling enthusiasm for reputedly serious music. Combining classical elements with those of pop and rock as well as rhythm and blues, his electrifying spirit enthralls listeners of all ages.

By the time he was thirteen years old, the virtuoso violinist David Garrett had a classical music career that would make most artists of any age envious. A true child prodigy at age eight, he was being booked to play as a soloist in front of some of the world’s greatest orchestras, including the London Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Russian National Orchestra. When he turned thirteen, he was signed to one of the most famous and prestigious classical music labels in the world as a solo artist. As a result, David has carved out a unique and wholly new artistic path, one that pays as much homage to Metallica as to Mozart.

Garrett's 2008 release of his album “Encore” contains arrangements and compositions of his own as well as pieces and melodies that have accompanied him in his life so far. With his 2009 album “Classic Romance”, he returned to his point of departure: classical music.
Dubbed, “the fastest violinist in the world,” David Garrett will be in the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest-ever performer of “The Flight of the Bumblebee”, clocking in at a blistering 66 seconds. He is said to be the world's fastest violin player, able to perform 13 notes in a single second.

David Garrett will be at the Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center in downtown Miami, Florida on Friday February 25, 2011.

Phoenix brings its 2010 International Tour to South Florida!

Two years ago, the band Phoenix was known mostly by critics and dance-music fans for its slick blend of soaring melodies and propulsive beats, or the fact that singer Thomas Mars was the beau of director Sofia Coppola, with whom he has a child.

These days, the French pop-rock band is everywhere, soundtracking Cadillac commercials with the ubiquitous single "1901" and popping up as the musical guest on NBC TV’s SNL, Phoenix also snagged a Best Alternative Album Grammy last year for its latest, most widely praised album, "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix."

The band, which delivered a triumphant main-stage set at the Monolith Music Festival last year, will returned to Denver in August for the third annual Mile High Music Festival at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The boys also played a sold-out show at the Ogden Theatre as part of their lengthy, largely sold-out 2010 International Tour.
Phoenix will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Wednesday October 27, 2010.

TSO founder, producer and writer Paul O’Neill explains, “When someone goes to a TSO concert, we don’t want them to walk away saying ‘that was a great show’ or ‘that was worth it’ or even ‘that was the best show I’ve seen in a long time.’ We want them to say, ‘Man, that the best show ever; we just ripped that band off.’”

With sales in excess of 7 million – including nearly 2 million CDs and DVDs sold in the past two years -Trans-Siberian Orchestra is among the most popular groups of the modern era. The Orchestra debuted in 1996 with the timeless “CHRISTMAS EVE AND OTHER STORIES.” Highlighted by the remarkable hit single, “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24,” the album has since achieved 2x platinum certification from the RIAA, with sales now rapidly approaching 3 million. Two further albums completed O’Neill’s planned Christmas Trilogy; 1998’s “THE CHRISTMAS ATTIC” and 2004’s “THE LOST CHRISTMAS EVE,” both of which are currently approaching 2x platinum certification. All three of the Orchestra’s Christmas-themed albums have proven enduring blockbusters, returning annually to the top 10 on Billboard’s “Top Catalog Albums” and “Top Holiday Albums” charts.

TSO’s 2009 Winter Tour played to over 1.2 million fans in 80+ cities, and generating revenues of nearly $45 million, which according to Billboard magazine’s midyear touring chart, put them as the #2 most attended tour. Comedian Lisa Lampanelli brings her comedy tour to South Florida!

Lisa Lampanelli is perhaps best known for her performances on the Comedy Central “Roasts” of Flavor Flav, Pamela Anderson, William Shatner and Jeff Foxworthy. Also known as the “Lovable Queen of Mean,” she is a no-holds-barred insult comic who masterfully works her audience while maintaining her likeability.

She is an equal opportunity offender, whose rise to the top of the comedy food chain began in 2002 when she was the only female comedian invited to skewer Chevy Chase on the NY Friars Club Roast, going on to become one of the few white comedians to perform on BET's "Comic View." She has since starred on the big screen with Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy, and her outrageous appeal has made her a mainstay on both the small screen and comedy charts with “Take It Like a Man” and a Grammy nominated CD and DVD titled “Dirty Girl”.

Heralded as "more than a standup -- a standout,” by comedy legend Jim Carrey, Lampanelli is a cross between Don Rickles, Archie Bunker, and a vial of estrogen, and has honed her ability to make people laugh at their own stereotypes and differences.

She created her first one-hour HBO comedy special, "Long Live the Queen”. In addition, her first book, "Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks," was released in September 2009.

Lisa Lampanelli will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Saturday November 6, 2010.

Miguel Bose’ brings his CARDIO TOUR to South Florida!

Miguel Bosé dubbed his new album “Cardio” in reference to the heart, a melding of contemporary and classic sounds that pulses with its own life. But the title could also reference the Spanish singer's weight battle during the making of his new album, online and in stores today. He gained 40 pounds during 2½ years on the road behind 2007's “Papito” disc.

"I could never have fit onto the cover of any album," Bosé says.
"It was torture. While you're touring, your biological clock just (messes) up. You never know when you're going to eat, what you're going to eat, how, where. Everything collapses. You eat rubbish when you're on the road. I went through such pain, that one way or another, I have to stick to it. It cost me so much that I don't want to go back to that whale-shaped man I used to be."

The now-trim Bosé's physical recharge is reflected in much of Cardio's tempo and mood. The songs are upbeat, optimistic and danceable, led by first single “Estuve a punto de ...”, a guitar-fueled pop track that showcases his lush, commanding vocals.

“Cardio” itself comes on the heels of Bosé celebrating 30 years as a performer with 2007's “Papito”, a collection of his biggest hits recast as superstar duets with the likes of Alejandro Sanz, Paulina Rubio, Laura Pausini, Shakira, Julieta Venegas, Ricky Martin and Michael Stipe. That album re-energized his career, selling more than 2 million copies, earning multiple Grammy nominations and resulting in an epic tour. (Bosé is also an accomplished actor and has appeared in more than two dozen films, including Pedro Almodóovar's HIGH HEELS.)

"I think not only me -- nobody would have ever thought "Papito" would be such a big success," he says.
"It became like a must. One of those records in your life that everybody wants to have on their shelf."

Miguel Bose’ will be at the James L. Knight Center in downtown Miami, Florida on Sunday November 7, 2010.

LCD Soundsystem heads to South Florida and brings Sleigh Bells with them!

LCD Soundsystem's heavy dance anthems combine with experimental rock, disco, and even hints of punk to make for great music for jamming, head-bobbing, or full-on shake-every-muscle-in-your-body dance moves.

Finally, after several days' worth of unconfirmed rumors, Live Nation announced that the tour will, in fact, play South Florida. The bad news: it's arriving sans Hot Chip. The good news: Sleigh Bells is coming along, instead, for everyone who didn't make the trek up to the band's recent show at Respectable Street in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Sleigh Bells' choice for South Florida is an obvious one: Florida connections.

In case you need more nudging, check out LCD Soundsystem's video for "Drunk Girls", and crack up at a gang of white "bears" beating up the band, dressing them up like chicks, and causing utter chaos. It's pretty strange, but still funny.

LCD Soundsystem (with Special Guest: Sleigh Bells) will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Wednesday October 6, 2010.
