Latin singer Cristian Castro brings his VIVA EL PRINCIPE Tour to South Florida!

Mexican pop singer Cristian Castro will be bringing his VIVA EL PRINCIPE (Long Live the Prince) Tour to several U.S. cities.

The like-named album, which pays tribute to legendary Mexican singer Jose Jose, known as "El Principe de la Cancion" (The Prince of Song), topped the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart for 10 weeks earlier this year and was also the No. 1 CD in Mexico for 15 weeks.

Jose Jose sings a duet with Castro on the album and also recites a poem.

Castro told a press conference recently at Los Angeles' Greek Theater that the first leg of the tour will kick off on July 28 in Chicago, the Universal Music Latino record label.

The singer then performed in McAllen, Texas, on July 30 and in Houston on July 31 before heading to California for concerts from August 5-7 in Los Angeles, San Jose and San Diego and then he's on his way to Florida for shows in Orlando on August 12 and Miami on the following night.

The 36-year-old Castro, who has sold more than 10 million albums in his career, will visit Puero Rico on August 19 for a concert in San Juan.

Castro's lastest album received Double Platinum certification after more than 200,000 copies were sold in the United States and Puerto Rico.

The singer also is scheduled to visit Latin America as part of the VIVA EL PRINCIPE Tour.

Cristian Castro will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Saturday August 13, 2011.
