John Mayer returns to South Florida with his BATTLE STUDIES WORLD Tour!

John Mayer has added summer dates to his World Tour plans in 2010, extending his ongoing trek in support of last fall's "Battle Studies," the singer/songwriter's fourth studio album.

The summer outing gets underway July 16th in Charlotte, NC, concluding two months later with a September 11th show in West Palm Beach, FL. The current spring leg of the trek, which kicked off in early February 2010 with eight dates remaining before the leg wraps April 10th in Chicago.

Co-produced by Mayer and Steve Jordan, "Battle Studies" surfaced last November 2009, debuting at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with sales of 286,000 copies during its first week. The set is described by the artist as a "confessional, relaxed and liberated album" that incorporates "the warmth, melodies and simplicity of '70s and '80s California rock/pop," according to a press release.

"I approach music like a director doing a period piece," Mayer said. "Where 'Continuum' was R&B and Soul, 'Battle Studies' was written with the timelessness of Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and Neil Young in mind. The melodies and message are concise and from-the-gut with the efficiency of simplicity."

Mayer's previous studio album, 2006's "Continuum," earned the performer three 2007 Grammy nods, and two wins: Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the album's first single, "Waiting on the World to Change."

John Mayer will be at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida on Saturday September 11, 2010.
