Sirius/XM Radio and Broadway Personality Seth Rudetsky brings his BIG FAT BROADWAY SHOW to South Florida!

Whether as host of the Sirius/XM radio Broadway Channel, Playbill.com weekly columnist, vocal coach and accompanist to musical theater's biggest names, actor or playwright, Seth Rudetsky knows so much about theater and its stars that his tour can only be called one thing: SETH’S BIG FAT BROADWAY SHOW.

Describing his upcoming show at the Broward Center on his web site, Rudetsky writes, "I’m bringing my own private video and audio collection to show you how to differentiate between what’s vocally amazing (Patti LuPone in EVITA) and what’s a vocal travesty (Madonna singing the same material). Gavin Creel, Betty Buckley, The Mamas and the Papas, Carly Simon, THE PAJAMA GAME, Melba Moore… ALL will be deconstructed. Video highlights (lowlights?) include the mercifully short-lived BRADY BUNCH VARIETY HOUR and Cher singing all the roles in WEST SIDE STORY on her early 70’s CBS TV variety show. Believe or not, you’ll see it!"

As a pianist, Rudetsky has played for more than a dozen Broadway shows including RAGTIME, LES MISERABLES and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. He was the artistic producer/music director for the first five annual Actors Fund Fall Concerts including the now legendary 2001 all-star concert of DREAMGIRLS (recorded on Nonesuch Records) and HAIR with pre-Oscar Jennifer Hudson (recorded on Ghostlight Records and a Grammy Award nominee).

Off-Broadway, Rudetsky wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed RHAPSODY IN SETH and has authored the books “The Q Guide to Broadway” and “Broadway Nights”. In 2007, he made his Broadway acting debut in the Roundabout Theater Company’s revival of the comedy THE RITZ and recently Rudetsky was the vocal coach on MTV’s LEGALLY BLONDE reality show.

Seth Rudetsky’s BIG FAT BROADWAY SHOW will be at the Amaturo Theatre at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Thursday April 21, 2011.
