Matisyahu brings his 2011 Summer Tour to South Florida!

Grammy-nominated reggae artist Matisyahu will be heading out on tour this summer in support of his latest release, “Live at Stubb’s Vol. II”.

With a staggering 54 tour dates this summer, Matisyahu will be zig-zagging his way across the country which kicked-off his run of dates in Boston on June 25, making a stop at Red Rocks in Colorado opening for Blues Traveler on July 4, and playing special select dates with The Wailers.

“Live at Stubb’s Vol. II” is Matisyahu’s first offering since his 2009 critically acclaimed studio album “Light”, which debuted inside the Billboard Top 20 and whose single “One Day” was chosen as the official theme song for NBC’s 2010 Winter Olympics broadcast. Relix said the new collection is “proof that Matisyahu can naturally straddle the line between pop star and jamband stalwart like few of his peers.”

Five years after creating an indelible mark on the U.S.’ musical consciousness with the release of his groundbreaking original live album, “Live at Stubb’s”, Matisyahu returned to the famed Austin, TX, venue last August (2010) with his band the Dub Trio for an unforgettable live music experience. Showcasing his impressive artistic evolution and incredible vibrancy on stage, this raw and inspiring musical journey was captured in the form of “Live at Stubb’s Vol. II” – a rare and sure-to-be-treasured time capsule for the magic that happened in Austin that night. The collection was released as a DVD/CD and the DVD was premiered at SXSW this year in the city of its origin.

Now, with three critically acclaimed albums, Matisyahu has become one of the most beloved and pioneering artists in music today with “Live at Stubb’s Vol. II” holding a special meaning for him and his devoted fans.

Matisyahu will be at The Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida on Thursday August 25, 2011.
