Joan Rivers’ television career began on the comedy NBC TV classic, The Tonight Show, where she became the first permanent guest-host during Johnny Carson’s run. In her earlier years she made appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show and worked as a writer on Candid Camera and various game shows.
